Somatic Healing

A SACRED CONVERSATION BETWEEN YOU, YOUR BODY, AND THE DIVINE

When your body is stuck in survival mode, the healing you crave won’t come from simply talking about it.

It will come from addressing your
nervous system.

Instead of responding to the tension, exhaustion, and restlessness you feel in your body with resentment or shame…

…what if you took these signs as a quiet call to turn inward?

You can create more momentum in coming home to yourself when you begin to physically release the stored up energy that is holding you back from the peace within.

What Does a Dysregulated Nervous System Look Like?

A dysregulated nervous system holds onto stress and emotions like an (in)security blanket.

When your nervous system is stuck in a state of survival, it can feel like you’re in a constant battle with your mind to feel or react the “right” way: to avoid what triggers you, to not appear too defensive, too anxious, too sensitive. It’s an exhausting way to live.

Somatic work teaches us that our bodies hold things that our minds cannot make sense of—and our faith helps us know that our bodies are divinely designed.

Christ-centered somatic work is grounded in the belief that deep, lasting healing and regulation is meant for you.

By reconnecting with the wisdom that exists within your body—and examining, with gentle curiosity, what it’s carrying—your body can receive what God longs to pour into you: unconditional love, peace, and restoration.

IS SOMATIC HEALING RIGHT FOR YOU?

While other therapeutic practices often focus on healing your mind and your emotions, somatic work recognizes that even when you can’t find the words, your body carries its own deep knowing.

In addition to healing the mind, somatics helps your physical self to be restored as well by listening to the body with kindness and allowing it to be part of your healing.

With the faith based approach offered at Simply Soul Care, your somatic journey toward a regulated and healthy nervous system will be about establishing a divine connection between your body, your emotions, and your spirit at a pace that feels safe, steady, and supported.

To help you discern if this work is right for you, here’s a little guidance:

Somatic healing may be right for you if…

  • You feel disconnected from your body and want to feel more at home within yourself.

  • You’re carrying tension, anxiety, or emotion that you can’t fully explain or talk your way through.

  • You long to feel safe, grounded, and more in tune with your intuition.

  • You want a slower, gentler way to heal—without needing to push or perform.

  • You want to connect with God - on a deeper, more intimate level.

When we respond to our bodies with compassion, not with judgment, we’re able to notice and honor what exists there and help our bodies to feel safe and divinely created again.

Meet Brooke, Your Somatics Practitioner

Hi, I’m Brooke Hendrickson, and I’m honored to be your spiritual guide - ushering you back to your most peaceful self.

Long before I earned my degrees in theology, philosophy, Christian leadership, and spiritual direction, I intuitively knew that God designed me to help others recognize, feel, and find clarity and peace. In my work as a spiritual director, Reiki master, and somatic practitioner I have cultivated a discerning ear, and I intuitively feel the souls and energies of others.

From prayer and meditation to practicing physical presence, I’ve been immersed in spiritual practices in order to help other women experience more peace. Forreligious “good girls” who continue to burnout, struggle with self-care and boundaries, and for anyone whose inner narrative is constant battle-I can help you stop spinning your wheels and embody your true spirit—let's stop doing and start being.

What to Expect:
Faith-Centered Somatic Healing

Healing through the body is often quiet, slow, and sacred. When you approach this journey with trust in your body and faith at the center, you’re never walking it alone. The nervous system takes time to heal—but with consistent somatic support, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible. This work is most powerful when it’s tended to gently and regularly, not just in one-off moments.

At the beginning of your somatics session:

Together, we’ll check in with what you’re carrying—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and begin creating a space of trust and safety in your body.

There’s no pressure to dive deeply into what you’re holding or what you’re feeling right away. This is your space, and the pace is always set by you.

During your somatics session:

You may be gently guided to:

  • Notice physical sensations or emotions in specific areas of your body

  • Name where you feel tension or energy—without needing to explain it

  • Connect with grounding resources like a memory, image, or place that feels safe or neutral

  • Explore those places of discomfort through a process called titration—tuning into your body slowly and with intention

  • Reflect on what arose—emotionally, spiritually, or somatically—as you begin to integrate the experience

After your somatics session:

Each somatics session closes by honoring what you’ve experienced and integrating it with care—whether that means journaling, resting, praying, or simply noticing how your body continues to speak in the days that follow.
